Showsec’s contract as primary security supplier for all home games with Warrington Wolves has been extended and we are happy to be back at the stadium with the 2019 cup winners, who resumed the 2020 super league season having not played at their home ground since the 5th March.

The 15,000-capacity stadium was selected as a neutral ground for five BetFred Super League matches which were played ‘behind closed doors ’on the 29th and 30th August at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and a further five matches on the 24th and 25th September.

The extended contract covers all aspects of security and crowd management, both inside and outside the stadium. From the carpark and turnstiles to hospitality, customer service and security roles within the stadium.

The operation saw changes to Showsec’s operation in line with government guidance including making sure no public entered the stadium and ensuring that designated internal zones were protected. Staff undertook track and trace questionnaires and were temperature checked on arrival.

Stephen Roberts, Area Manager for Showsec in Liverpool said, “We’re delighted to sign this contract extension. Showsec have built a strong relationship with the stadium over the years and the team work really well together to ensure high levels of service. “

Marc Weall, Stadium Manager said, “I am delighted to extend the contract with Showsec, as they have continually supported and adopted to new and different environmental risks and factures that surround the stadia operations, including the latest Covid secure stadia we need to adapt to.

“Stephen Roberts is my ‘go to guy’ for any security advice no matter how complex he is on hand and works tirelessly with the demands I often place on them to ensure we are meeting all local or central government guidelines including mandatory terms to adhere to.

“Well done again guys, it’s always a pleasure working in partnership with Showsec. “

Stephen added, “We look forward to welcoming the teams back to the stadium this weekend, and the fans too when the guidance allows.”
