A Third Year for Showsec At Sounds Of The City

Showsec recently delivered security and crowd management for the third year running for the acclaimed Sounds of the City held in the Castlefield Bowl – an outdoor amphitheatre in the heart of the city centre. This year saw six shows running between 27th June and 6th of July, and featured a number of big-name artists including Nile Rodgers & CHIC and Rag’n’Bone Man.

With the company’s proven track record of facilitating this event smoothly and safely the promoter SJM once again chose Showsec to provide a full security service including the build and break, front and back of house security, management of VIP areas and external management of the site.

As Aaron Jervis, Operations Executive for Manchester Central explains: “The Sounds of the City event has been a large undertaking, with an 8000 capacity venue. I am really pleased with how smoothly the event has gone. The level of commitment from staff on the ground and their communication to management was fantastic. This is our third year at Sounds of the City, and each year we have managed to build on what we have done before to deliver the high standards of security and crowd management that Showsec is renowned for.”

Operations Executive for Greater Manchester Jonathan McDwyer, who shared head of security duties with Aaron Jervis, is equally pleased with how well the event went, adding: “It’s a pleasure to work alongside the promoting team, SJM.
